One of her favorite quotes is:
“Dogs are not our whole life…but they make our LIVES WHOLE!“ by Roger Caras
Dina Marie Pratt is a pet portrait artist, residing in East Berlin, CT. Much of her work has been inspired by the animals she has rescued over the years. Dina is a self taught artist and her love of animals & art began when she was just 7 years old; drawing pictures of her Scottish Terrier who she adored! Dina has been a professional artist most of her adult life. After loosing some of her own pets she felt it was necessary to pay tribute to them and dedicated herself to painting their portraits which opened the door to custom portrait painting. Dina captures a pets true personality in her realistic portraits and attributes their likeness to the deep connection she has with animals. Painting animals is very rewarding and very spiritual to her. Her clients are amazed at how their portraits bear an uncanny resemblance to their pet. In addition to portraits Dina illustrated a children’s book about a homeless dog and is painting her second murals for a local Animal Sanctuary which she supports.
2012- Illustrated children’s book: ‘Roxy’s Forever Home’ for writer Teresa Pelham; a portion of the proceeds is donated to Animal Rescue.
2013 Animal Beach Mural: painted in the Rescue Cottage at ‘Our Companions Domestic Animal Sanctuary’ in Ashford, CT. Our Companions is an animal welfare group she supports and donates a percentage of her portraits to also.
2014 – Raining Cats & Dogs; Windsor Education Foundation. Artistically Decorated Fiberglass Cats & Dogs will be displayed around town to promote Art & Creativity! Two painted Labrador designs by Dina were chosen

Students will receive individual instruction and work at their own pace in a non-competitive environment. Our student to teacher ratio is always low to ensure an optimal learning experience. Middletown Art Academy is pleased to announce its first annual Art Angel Fine Art Competition. Submit your masterpiece dedicated to the Art Angel and win a scholarship to study fine art in the year of 2013-2014.
Every year three talented young artists will be selected to create their own masterpieces according to a given inspirational theme. The winners names will also be published in the local media: the theme for 2013 is Art Angel.
First place – a full tuition scholarship for Academic year 2013-2014 (summer not included) for any class, program, or workshop of their choice. The masterpiece will be professionally matted and framed by our own loyal supporter Middletown Framing (in a frame and mat of the artist’s choice from the store’s stock selection). It will also be featured on the Academy website and will be given the honor of representing the 2013 Art Angel Scholarship!
